Good Free Linux Information

Does anyone have any online resources that give information pertaining to Linux? I'm not looking for ways to di this and that, but rather information about Linux its self. I'm writing a report on it, and would like to learn some stuff that I already didn't know. I'm looking for sites with a decent amount of information so I can print them out and work on them inbetween exams on Wensday and Thursday.

Wikipedia has a lot of useful information, but when searching Google I always get technical documentation that would confuse my audience. I need only major points, not super specific information.
