GNOME on bootup

Hi,

I just installed RedHat 7.3 did a standard workstation install, and i have two little problems at the moment

On bootup GNOME automatically starts, how can i turn this off so it just goes to the command line instead?

And when i try to connect to the computer through SSH from one of my other computers, it says connection refused. Is this due to a standard install not having SSH server? Or is it cause i have to edit the permission of what IP's are allowed access?

and both computers can ping each other btw.

Eagerly awaiting any feedback

I've had nightmares about networking linux, so I'm not going there.
To change to command shell boot, change the runlevel to 3 instead of 5.

edit /etc/inittab and then reboot.

It even tells you how in the file!
