Exclamation GNOME Desktop Icon Problem

I am running a Fedora Core 4 install with GNOME as my desktop manager. Whenever I change my icon set away from that of Bluecurve some application icons on my desktop get skewed to very large sizes. I have gone into the preferences and selected the zoom level. I also am aware of the "Stretch Icon" option, but I wish to ensure all icons on my desktop are the same size.

I am aware that this feat can be accomplished in KDE very easily, though I am having some difficulity doing so in GNOME. All help is greatly appreciated.
