Gap in partition sequence OK?

Because I deleted a no-longer-used partition, my partition sequence is now like this:

/hda1 NTFS (WinXP) 30Gb
/hda2 reiserfs (Slackware) 29Gb
/hda4 swap 768Mb

Note that there's no /hda3. This all seems to work smoothly, with no error messages at boot-time, and the swap partition is recognized and functioning.

My question: Is there a problem with skipping from /hda2 to /hda4 with no /hda3 intervening?

I'm sure I could zap and then recreate the swap partition, but I'm wondering if there's any pressing reason to do that.

Thanks.
