Angry fstab problems

Hi!

I was using 2.4.18 kernel. Yesterday i upgrade to 2.4.20 but after that i got 2 problems.

1) The first is that my windows partition does't mount automatically. Can you tell me from where to learn more about fstab and how to fix this.

2) The resolution of the console went to min. It's like I boot from the CD.

I'm using Slackware 8.1, kernel 2.4.20

Thanks in advice!

Did you compile the kernel yourself ?
If so it's most likely that you didn't include support for vfat filesystem or NTFS (depending on your windows version).

1.
man mount

you most likely need to add the 'auto' option to your /etc/fstab for the particular partition.

Hi again! Thanks to all that reply. The problem was in the kernel, i've just recompiled it with fat support. 10x... but still can't fix the console resolution ( any ideas?

Sounds like you left some console stuff out when you built your kernel.

Yes, you probably want the framebuffer console stuff.
