Might seem like a silly question but do i understand this right? Games like Call of duty, half-life2 and a slew of other games cant run under Linux?

Thanks for the info

Any games like that that dont have a linux port you pretty much have 2 options. Use wine which can run some but is free, or use cedega from transgaming, which runs way more games and runs them better but that requires a subscription (5 bucks a month last i checked and you could cancel whenever you wanted). If you look around on http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/ you can see what games work with it and how well.
