folder permissions using --bind

I am trying to set up a partition with several folders--each accessible only by a specific user.

One solution that I tried was to mount the partition and then use the --bind option to create submounts to the specific folders. It seems, however, that you cannot give different privileges, ownership, etc. than what already exists for the primary mount.

I want to mount the partition such that noone except the authorized user can see anything except their folder.

Perhaps is this doable by using the --move mount option, with the destination directory unreachable for all but the authorized users.
