Fatal Server Error


I recently installed Linux on my compaq persario and i have my hard drive partitioned so linux has a 3gb partion and i installed slackware linux 7.1 and when i login and type startx it comes up

Fatal server error:
Open_framebuffer: failed to open /dev/fb0 (No such devise)

i have read the other threads and followed everything in this thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...l+Server+Error but it still doesnt work

help

So XF86Setup runs correctly??

Ya it works correctly but then when i follow the same steps in the other thread it then gives me a different error about not having a Screen selected
