DNS error from /var/log Named[156]


Hi guys,
I am trying search internet for the error below. I couldn't find any clue. Any dns expert here to help ..

The 156 is just the PID of named and it would change every time you restarted named. You should pay more attention to the rest of it leaving out what is specific such as the PID and the actual zone.

So if you do a Google search on "MAXQUERIES exceeded, possible data loop in resolving" you'll see many hits the first of which is:

Thanks for feedback. I am not able to check on DNS server. The errors below are from my proxy servers. I think most probably is within DNS server. Sometimes, I am not able to ping to internet.

Anyway, I will ask the team to check their DNS.

These message appear to have come from your messages (/var/adm/messages) file. If so they are talking about what named on that server is doing rather than on another server. (Unless someone configured syslogd to send messages from the other server to the local one.)
