Debugging a subproject

Does anyone know how to decide which executable to debug in KDevelop? I have three subprojects. I can choose which one is the "active target". Then when I hit shift-F9 it will execute that target. But when I hit just F9 to debug it always does the same executable, I can't figure out how to choose the other executable for debugging.

************

Okay, I figured out a dirty way to do it. Close KDevelop. Open it back up. Make whichever executable target you want to debug the active target. Hit F9. Then it says "Project is out of date. Rebuild?" Pick YES. Now when you hit F9 it will debug your new target. If you want to switch to the other executable and debug it you have to close KDevelop. Open it. Make the other target the active target and hit F9.

There has got to be a smarter way to do this. What am I missing?
