The problem I am currently experiencing is I add a line the /etc/crontab and nothing seems to run. I go to the run level editor and cron is running? I am running Suse linux. My line reads as:
30 11 * * 1-5 root /usr/local/bin/budaily.sh
I can't seem to find any type of log for cron. I also see some people say that kcron is suppose to be on Suse to edit jobs, but I can't find it.
You need to use the command crontab -e to create/edit things properly, unce you're done saving your changes, the process will automagically reinstall the changes for you
you can also use crontab -l to list what the current (per user) crontab is.
I just have another quick question. From a command prompt I type crontab -e, I get that is where I put in my config line now. How do I save and exit? I have read "ctrl o" and "ctrl x", but those don't seem to work.
