Question Compiling Gnome: Tricky business with SSH

As it turns out, emerging gnome on Gentoo with KDE already built is a bit trickier than I thought. The process will stop every so often to tell me that I need to emerge this package with this use flag. Today, I'll be gone for most of the day, and I was wondering if there was a way I could monitor the emerge process via SSH? Of course, I could look at ps -a and figure out whats what, but could I actually see all that wonderful stuff flitting in and out of my screen? Really does make me happy, that.

Thanks,
dTh

Use screen.
Code:
emerge screen
screen -R
emerge whatever
Ctrl-A-D detaches the screen, but everything keeps going in it. Then when you ssh in, you just:
Code:
screen -R
EDIT: typos

I also like watching all that magic go past. Especially when it changes from 'Emerging (4 of 123)' to 'Emerging (5 of 123)'.
