Cisco router and terminal display

Hi all,
I have a cisco router that I want to plug to the console port for my Linux box, but I don't know how to configure it so it displays on the monitor. The console port of the router goes to a COM port (9 pin) in the back of the PC. Usually in "winsucks" you'd use the hyperterminal, but I don't know how to set this up for LInux,
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You want to use minicom.

minicom did it.
