Centos epel Repo /Alternative Repos? 32bit

I'm unlucky I guess where as all of my personal computers are 32bit and holding up well.

Mageia 6 has been unreliable on a laptop;abbiword bug , suspend won't work if you updated it, default file manager is buggy, OS won't install right the first time, hot plugging not working etcetera , just in case a Mageia developer is reading this .

So Centos has a 32bit version and it working great on a older laptop.

I installed the Epel repo but it's not active yet. Will Centos make this known somehow or do I just have to keep trying?

Also is there a 'best' way to try to install fedora packages, can I add the fedora mirrors?

Thanks in advance!

You could contact the EPEL SIG to see if they are ever going to create a EL7 32 bit repository but I am guessing probably not.

I'm not sure about Fedora packages except that you would need to match the the equivalent distribution versions based on kernel and library versions using the source RPMs. I would expect you might break a few things.

The only time I've installed a Fedora package on CentOS, I downloaded the rpm from the Fedora version on which the Red Hat version was based and added it manually. Even setting yum priorities, I suspect that enabling a Fedora repository would be a recipe for disaster.

Don't forget that the are lots of sources for CentOS-compatible stuff.

And if you enable extra repositories, remember to use this
