can't log in more than one user

I can't remember which program removed K3B, but after I installed a program, K3B was removed along with some of programs KDE depended on. After I reinstalled K3B, KDE was back to normal except for a few things.

1) The text was smaller. I can easily fix this though.
2) But for some reason, I no longer have the "start a new session" option.

Is there a way I can start a new session through the terminal, or add the "start new session" back?

I'm using Mepis.

start new session prob.

hello,

I'm not in Kubuntu so dont know about the configuration possibilities, but with my mandrake distro
in console the following managers exist: xdm, gdm, kdm

do you still work with multi-user runlevel? otherwise in single-user runlevel you are not allowed to login an extra user

maybe use a menu editor to update, mandrake has one in the computer configuration tool,

or search with package manager information if the (startnewsession)-package is installed and search for file locations
find its executable (in for example /usr/bin), otherwise in console:

sudo whereis nameofpackage (enter package name, if you don't know find it on internet)

give root password then read output
try to run the executable

I hope you got some help with this

hoi,
