can't load dynamic linker '/lib/ld.so

I just downloaded doom 1.8. But when I try to run the executeble, I get "can't load dynamic linker '/lib/ld.so' " This sounds realy serious does'nt it. But yet, nothing else seems wrong with my system.
Is this somting that I need to worry about, or is it somthing with doom.

try this, I have no idea if it will work or not

ln -s /lib/ld-2.2.5.so /lib/ld.so
this assumes you have /lib/ld-2.2.5.so

if you have a different one use it

if that fails to work try linking it to ld-linux.so.2 or what ever version of that you have

ln -s /lib/ld-linux.so.2 /lib/ld.so

this assumes you have /lib/ld-linux.so.2

I have ld-2.2.5.so and I linked it to ld.so but it didn't work.
ld-linux.so.2 didn't work as well

I'm wondering if it is built for the right platform. Wher did you get it.

If you provide a link I will try to get it working on my system.

Well, you know what, forget about it. The reason I posted this thread is because I was worried that this had somthing to do with a serious system fault. I don't think that's the case so why bother.
As for doom, I'l just look for a nother source.
But thanks any way
