Moving from dynamic lib (Windows) to linux

Hi ,
I'm trying to get my Visual C++ application(dll's) to work in linux (.so), I read on the net that I can use Wine, is there any other way to do that, I mean convert dll's to .so's libraries so the application will work on a unix server?

Thanks in advance,
