bug searches, reporting

i can open konqueror using "start here" on my kde desktop, but any time i click on any of the icons (appearance & themes, desktop, power control, system admin, etc) i get a KDE Crash Handler window.

the short description tells me that "the application konqueror...crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV). no backtrace is available.

the window explains that it is likely due to a bug in the application then suggests sending a report for the application. i can't connect with the bugs.kde.org site suggested. the attempt keeps timing out.

is there another site or forum that might address this problem? is there anyone here who might have a suggestion for the glitch?

i also got the same crash alert when i was trying to rename an icon in konqueror.

any ideas?

But as a rule of thumb, many bugs aren't bugs. Check your syslogs and the crash handler, it may just need to be reinstalled.

i finally connected to the site. must have been a bottleneck or something.

i looked and looked and still could not find any mention of similar behaviour.

so considering that it might not actually be a bug but a glitch in installation or some other non-programming issue...

how do i reinstall? my version of konqueror is 3.2.2-8.FC2. running on kde 3.2.2-14...

can i use yum to remove and install?
