GNU GRUB 2.02 default boot up is Linux, but now I get a purple screen, saying UBUNTU 18.1. I can't boot up into linux. So I have to get dvd and burn Linux Live to it, then maybe it will work. I tried to use a live cd for ubuntu 5.04, since I have one here, but that failed.
I have a boot repair disk 64 bit.iso, if I can boot up, I can use it. I think.
Dual boot with windows 7, which I am running now. This began on 2nd start up after fixing update errors, including broken filters. So I am hopefull I can get this solved, cause if not, I am screwed.
Yes it was working just fine, but I had some update issues, where I could not get updates. I got help from folks in hex chat, but it may have caused additional problems. Hopefully, once I get dvd, I can try to reboot. If that doesn't work, I will have to go into the details of why not.
I have Windows 7 one on side,600+ GB (!) and linux mint 18.1 Cinnamon on the other partition.
Updates were to Linux.
So I need a current copy of mint 18.1 I suppose, live session. I am sure I can get that from their website.
Install disks will not help me, I surmise; I do have that as well.
