boot file?

Say I wanted to make my computer boot strait into a game. Where is the file I need to edit to make it do this? In Windows 98 and down it's autoexe.bat. I want to know where that type of file is in in Slackware (7).

Are you talking about the game starting after :

1. System boot.
Edit /etc/rc.d/rc.local to add and new daemon at start up.

2. Console system login
Edit /etc/passwd for the user so that rather than running Bash is starts. Note that when the game finishes it will logout. Possibly a bash script that starts the game then start bash ( or whatever shell u use ) would be needed.

3. KDE login.
Try looking in ~/.kde for the file. Cant remember what it is though.

I think no.2 is what u are talking about.

Since the game must run as some user you should configure the user for auto login at boot. Then setup that users .bashrc

When you exit the game you will be in the users desktop. Or setup the /etc/password as stated above so it will logout.

I have a public machine setup this way, although it does not start a game.

The login screen shows for 30 secs and then the public user logs in. This will give you a chance to login as a normal user.
