I have done every thing that the PHP manual tells me, but when I trie to start apache I get this error msg:
Syntax error on line 205 of /www/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /www/libexec/libphp4.so into server: /www/libexec/libphp4.so: undefined symbol: core_globals
./apachectl start: httpd could not be started
I compiled PHP with this parameter: --with-jpeg-dir=/usr/local/lib and the compilation ends well.
I decided to let this parameter out of the config-tag, because I had an compiled PHP4 running before. After the new compilation the Apache startet!!
So I was looking for the problem and recognized that there are much more LIBs in /usr/lib than in /usr/local/lib. All the files included in /usr/local/lib are also included in /usr/lib!
I compiled PHP (again!) with the right parameter: --with-jpeg-dir=/usr/lib and startet Apache -->
SUCCESS!!!
I hope that you may resolve this problem the same way
