Alsamixer down after boot

Hi there!

I installed a fresh Slack10.1 and it works good. But beneath a xorg -problem I found out, that everytime I turn off the computer and start it again later the alsamixer is tuned down, die main-volume is turned to zero and all other values are in their old position too ... don't understand that.

When I log in as root and turn it up, sound is back and everything is ok ... until I switch off...

Does someone have a nice idea why that is?

Greetings, Sascha

As root set the volume the way you want then run alsactl store
Then open /etc/rc.d/rc.local and add
alsactl restore

Go to the kde control center>Sounds & Multimedia>Sound System.

aRts Tab: Check the "start aRts soundserver on KDE startup" box

Mixer tab: check the "Load volumes on login" box. after you have set your volumes click that "Save current volumes" button.

That should probably do the trick.
