adding script to startup

is there a way I can have a script run when I boot. I am using a wireless card on a laptop and have to run /etc/pcmcia/network start eth0 to connect to the network, so i put the command in a script so I wont have to type this long commandin everytime. I am wondering how I can add this script (or command) to the start up script (towards the end) so I wont have to type it all.

Thanks

Most distros have a file called rc.local which runs at boot, and can be found under /etc or /etc/rc.d

I'm running Knoppix (based on Debian), and I've noticed that the miscellaneous start-up script equivalent to rc.local is /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh

If you want it to look like a normal part of the boot-up process do it like this:

action "Starting pcmcia network card eth0..." /etc/pcmcia/network start eth0

Then when you boot you'll see this:

Starting pcmcia network card eth0... [ OK ]
