Shell script adding autostart gnome script

I have script that I want to use to add another script to the gnome startup. I just need to know where to put the script or what file to edit and how exactly needs to go in that file. Is there an Autostart folder in gnome like there is in KDE?

I found it at
start/preferences/more preferences/sessions/startup programs

although I would like to know where the file is so I can edit it manually

Try adding .desktop files in ~/.config/autostart, according to this guide.
