[1] ALSA problem & [2] FreeFontPath problem

This is when KDE plays sound ... when players use alsa. However THERE IS SOUND and is ok but that msg...

ALSA lib timer_hw.c:269snd_timer_hw_open) extended read is not supported (SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_TREAD)

This is the first problem, well the second problem is when i shutdown KDE, the output is that:

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/ refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/ is line in my xorg.conf defining a font path , But :O

Any ideas , thank you.

does this message:

ALSA lib timer_hw.c:269snd_timer_hw_open) extended read is not supported (SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_TREAD)

show up on your gui screen?

have you added any 'sound fonts' recently?

if you have, that may be part of your msgs.

take them out-- they will cause problems unless you know what you are doing with them (which i don't).

you can edit 'out' the problem in xorg.conf by putting a # at the beginning of the line.

make sure you have a back up tho and be prepared to use it

Thank you for the good advices but the only thing i do recently is that i upgraded the x11 , than the new one - 6.9 don't like very much xorg.conf ...

All the messages appear in the console in which i have started the X [ tty1 ]. whatever happens - the output is in tty1.

I will start my laptop and i will paste more info, and a part of the xorg.conf ... soon

I had the same ''problem'' or better I got the same message when I exit KDE.

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

I have Xorg 6.9/&.0 too...

As I remember correct I had the same problem many years ago on SuSE 5.4 or something ) I forgot...and I forgot how I save the problem too.

There is still work on x11 6.9 the programmers know that i will wait new versions, until then i will stay with this bugggggggggggggggyyy BUT IF YOU GIVE ME SOLUTION i cannot give a solution until i hack mack the source code. But i must search a lot, & i will waste a lot of time, this time the coders of x11 must spend it
