*GLmatrix* desktop?

Hi Guys

I'm trying to fork the glmatrix screensaver to the desktop but have not been successful so far. I have read in an old post its possible with

Code:

/usr/bin/xscreensaver/glmatrix -root

But i'm unable to find this executable. All i get is the location to the man page.

Anybody tried this? Suggestions?

PS : If i remember Kororaa XGL had the matrix thing appear instead of the water effect in Beryl.

On my machine (Slackware), the GLMatrix binary is located at:

/usr/libexec/xscreensaver/glmatrix

Failing that, you should be able to locate it by running "locate glmatrix".

I have used GLMatrix on the root desktop before, and it does look pretty cool, but you should be warned that it can be a bit unstable. Most of the window managers I tried it in either refused to allow it to work, or behaved oddly when it was running.
