Since you're using SuSE9 you don't have to do anything with configuration files if you don't feel comfortable with that yet. You installed the nvidia driver with YOU, but did you enable 3D acceleration? Running sax2 will give you the ability to do this without even looking at xf86 config file. You can also do this through Yast > Hardware
Hmmm I have another Question for everyone. Not sure whether or not this is a sound card compatibility issue or just a configuration issue, anyhow I run UT2k4 and I am not getting any sound out of the game. I know I have sound because i can uses XMMS just fine. Can Anyone help me?

What sound card do you have, distribution and drivers (if you have not installed any drivers, then you most probably be using the OSS-Free drivers). You may find out the driver you are using by issuing an lsmod command and see what does soundcore reports to be the driver, in the system I'm currently using, a laptop, it is:

I tried editing XFConfig86-4 and enabling it there but when I do all the steps on Dri guide and run glxinfo it just says "Direct Rendering : No"
I have Mandrake 9.2
Radeon 9600pro
XFree86 4.3.0 and Ati 3.7.0
If you need more info just say so
It didn' t work. I installed the file alright and changed the config file and after that rebooted, but went Iwent to go activate 3D in sax2, it said I needed to download the driver from nvidia and istall it. The driver I used was NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run
This is the problem I'm getting when I install the new Nvidia drivers:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): no HorizSync values remaining
(EE) NVIDIA(0): No modes remaining for display device CRT-0
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
That comes about while trying to start up xwindows and all I have to do to get that error is install the new nvidia drivers and change 'nv' to 'nvidia' in the devices.
That error will go away and boot into xwindows just fine if I change it back to 'nv' though. Any ideas to what is going on?
