Steam Logon Screen vanishes into Desktop, present in the panel
Greetings,
Slackware, Wine ver 1.1.29 DOD:S and Steam
I have been using WINE and Steam on my Slackware Distro for some time.
Recently Steam upgraded and it looks alot better on my machine. Before the Steam menu was visible but the colors were all weird.
When playing DOD:S I had very low fps, so I decided to check and see if SLI was enabled for my Nvidia video cards, and it wasn't so I enabled it.
The instrux stated to restart and check if SLI was enabled in the Nvidia control panel and it was.
Tried to start Steam and there was a button on my Panel about not synching with Cloud, nothing happened when I clicked the button with the error, so I deleted the blob file. Which in turn will make me enter my username and password again. Only, when I start Steam the button appears on my Panel and when I click it, it only flashes on my Desktop and vanishes.
So I can't logon to even see if enabling SLI improved my fps.
I'm hoping to get help here, so I don't have to blindly reinstall Steam and still not have it work correctly.
I think I'll try and disable SLI and see if that fixes the vanishing dialog box, but it won't help my fps.
___Disabling SLI didn't correct the issue___
TIA
Bill
