Steam Error

I have installed SteamInstall.exe and all went well but, then when I go to start Steam it begins to update but soon changes to "ERROR: Failed to get local IP address of SocketToServer". Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried deleting and reinstalling SteamInstall.exe with no luck.
