I'm not familiar with uni firewalls, but depending on how it works I may be able to help. Is it a software or hardware firewall? Does it have a web interface (and do you have access to it)?
Most likely it's blocking a port that you need. Can you include the exact error that you're getting? What exactly isn't working?
OK, well I've put in my info and I click on the proxy button down at the botto. I put in what I think is the IP address and it gives me error code 0, saying words to the effect of the information could not be sent. Hmmmm... As far as I know the uni firewall is a hardware one, and no, I can't log into it. I think it uses a SOCKS 4 or maybe SOCKS 5 proxy server, not HTTP. I think this might be wherein the problem lies.
If that's the case, you need to make sure that they're not blocking the port you want. I believe you need incoming TCP port 58121 open (as per my ethereal analysis of the Cedega updater). If that won't work, try using an online proxy server. Just search Google for them. Basically, you need to have it map that port to something you can get to, like port 80 (http).
This is kind-of a stab in the dark, so if anybody else has an idea, please speak up!
A proxy server can sometimes allow you to route one port, such as 58121 to something more accessable, such as 80. Try going online and googling for "proxy server".
You shouldn't have do download anything. A proxy server is a (usually free) server on the internet. You should just be able to put in the info for the proxy in cedega and have it (hopefully) work. Please keep in mind, though, that I've never had to get around a firewall to get cedega working, so I'm mostly just guessing at this point.
