Redhat9 - Sound issue - Americas Army

Ok, title says it all pretty much.

Sound issue is giving me a headache. Sound lags 1.5+ seconds after action occurs.

I've made sure that all of the sound drivers are properly setup and enabled. This seems game specific because other games work flawlessly.

Anyone know whats going on here? I've searched but have yet to find a solution.

Read the RULES you agreed to when you signed up to use LQ.

Do not post the same discussion in more than one forum. Duplicate discussions can be frustrating for other members. Try and pick the most relevant forum for your post. If you are unsure put it in Linux - General.

Since this post is in regards to a game issue, the one in the Software forum is closed.

Please continue the thread in this forum.

And also to note since you think our games forum is slow. You have to consider this is a free forum and also linux gaming isn't mainstream yet. You might not get an answer immediately and what better way to make our Games forum better by asking questions in it so it does get more exposure. Its why we created it cause members demanded it. If its just slow and everyone posts in other forums, we might as well do away with this forum altogether.

So if you got a gaming question, it belongs here. Post in the most appropiate forum please. That's why we have them in categories.

A.) Your games forum IS slow, it's not my opinion.

B.) I'll post gaming q's here from now on, even if it takes thirty years or more for a reply.

C.) Sorry to cause such a commotion, it was unintentional.

D.) HELP ME FIND AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTION PLEASE!!!

A.) Your opinion is noted but it doesn't change that your question belongs in our Games forum.

B.) Thank you for abiding by our wishes and rules, but we don't the remarks you also made as we understand you feel the Games forum is slow, like mentioned before, Games in Linux are not mainstream yet. Even you questions in the other forums you might never get a reponse, the forums here don't change the speed of your answers.

C.) Then why are you still arguing and causing a comotion?

D.) Responses like this in all CAPS just shows that your yelling and most will consider it rude and inconsiderate. Again, this is a free forum, there is no garauntee to answers. People come to answer in their own spare time, show them respect in your questions and that might even speed up your responses.

Now if you feel like continuing this, email me, another moderator or the site admin. Lets not continue this in this thread or it will be closed as well, as I'm serious. Not a peep unless its covering your topic you originally started.

Cheers.

Well, I still can't find any info...shame...

I installed the alsa sound drivers after I had AA installed, so the original install was on top of incorrect sound drivers.

I uninstalled, and am reinstalling now that the drivers are properly setup. I'll report back if this works so that others can solve this problem easier than I did.

**EDIT** spelling suxxors

Got rid of Redhat9 and installed SuSE 9.0 again.
