Random log outs when playing Armagetron
For some reason, whenever I play Armagetron (an OpenGL 3D Tron Game), I randomly get logged out after awhile. I don't get an error message, I just get taken to the log in screen. It does this every time I play. I also notice that if I play and then exit the game, it will log me out eventually even though I quit the game It works fine on all my other games, including SuperTux, TuxPuck, Pinball, Pingus, EnemyLines3, Starfighter, Airstrike, KETM, KBall, and KQ. This seems very odd. I am using the XFree86 driver on a SiS card on my Acer Aspire 3000:
Code:
Graphics Card (IGP):
Brand: SiS 760
Interface: AGP (Integrated)
Bus Speed: 8x
Chipset: SiS Mirage 330
Core Clock: 166 MHz
Pixel Pipelines: 4
Memory Type: DDR
Memory Width: 64 Bit
Memory Clock: 400 MHz (200 MHz x 2)
Onboard Video Memory: 32 MB
Total Video Memory: 128 MB (Shared)
Max Resolution: 2048 x 1536 @ 75 Hz
RAMDAC Clock: 350 MHz
Outputs: VGA
SLI: No
VIVO: No
Overclocked: No
I am running it on medium settings at 1024 x 768 (I can post exactly what they are if necessary) and am getting 30 - 45 FPS. The game itself runs fine, it occasionally "hiccups", but it is no big deal. Its the fact that it just suddenly terminates that is very annoying. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions and help to resolve this.
Thanks,
BigFoot

Try running it from a command line, like so:
Code:
armagetron > armagetron.log 2>&1
Then, when it logs you out, you'll have a logfile of what happened. If there was an error thrown, it'll be there.

Thanks for the reply. I will do this. Where will the log file be located so I can find it?

It should be in the directory you started Armegatron in, which is likely your home directory.

It finally did it again. The log file is empty though, there is nothing in it.

Hmmm... that's really odd. Most games spit all sorts of stuff out.
Are you using Armagetron or Armagetron Advanced? According to the Armagetron website, the Advanced version is now the version that's being supported and worked on... the original is just there for posterity.
Otherwise, I really don't know what to do... sorry.

I am using the advanced version. I will try again and see if the log file shows any errors. If I make any progress, I will post. Thanks.
