Internet Reallife/Chat /games: a huge Real World to discover ?

GTA San Andreas, was a first game to offer large possibilities, driving, running, flying planes, motorbikes, ... chatting with Internet multiplayer.
Lot of games are online now.

Is there a game that has such exceptional GTA san Andreas graphic engine with a huge world map to discover ?
