This is a very unique problem..

You see, I don't play the game from the cd-rom.

What I remember, from the days of 3.1 when I used to play this game was that I installed it each time I wanted to play. It just wouldn't work if I didn't (windows, eh?)

I did that from dos.

Now I'd like to revisit the nostalgia and play a bit of the original game. So I installed the dosemu package. The next logical step would be to 'install' simcity. Unfortunately I don't understand how I would go about doing that...The directory layouts are completely different. Not to mention the files.

Does anybody know?

And also, the simcity original applet (on simcity.com) doesn't work for me. Do any of you know a place to download it? I just wanted to analyze some of the code.

why dont you cp the files to the root dosemu dir and use them from there? btw, you might wanna use xdosemu...
