Thanks PatrickV,

I can't see it here (version 9.2), but going to download latest version anyway.

I can't believe noone suggested that :P
9.2 is like 5 years old.

But in all versions it's Yast - Software...something. I think the link to the Suse quickstart is still in my signature... We'll find out

I've used suse for about a year before switching to Ubuntu (Breezy), and I'm happy eversince... You could search the Ubuntu Forums for a solution to your specific hardware problems. Chances are someone had it before.
If you stick with suse...
You will probably get trouble with the package manager in yast, it sucks. The first thing I would do is install "smart" as install/remove tool. It has less programs in the repositories than Ubuntu, and the userbase is smaller, and it's harder to get your problems solved. Ubuntuforums.org is one of the main reasons I'm on ubuntu.

Hi,

The first linux I installed was Ubuntu, and to be honest I think it's better than Suse. Perhaps not as pretty visually, but it sure works faster and everything was so much easier to install.

The reason I gave up on it is because I'm completely new to linux and didnt have a clue as to how to get the Nvidia drivers working. I installed them as the site said, and they worked (neverputt game) until I rebooted. Then it was game over time.

I guess once got the hang of all this will probs go back to Ubuntu though.

I have edited the title of this thread. Please use thread titles that actually describe your problem or what you are trying to achieve. Cheers.

The next day though, I installed Suse (for some reason suse finds my nvidia and creative labs card, while god knows how its done in ubuntu).

Take a look here. It's pretty straight foreward.

So i found the same game through google, but have no idea how to get it working in suse. In ubuntu it installs auto.

There gotta be a way surely.
Problem is you're using a 4 year old version of suse. I would suggest you install 10.2. It probably isn't in the repositories because they're no longer being updated.
