3D FPS, awesome fun and a great quality, open source game. Anyone else developing a FPS game for linux would be wise to use the Dark Places engine the Nexuiz team have done so much work on.
Enigma (aka Oxyd) is probably my favorite linux puzzle type game. I think it's actually a very well done port of an old dos game with suped up graphics and stuff. Basically you roll a little marble around looking for these colored nodes, and you have to hit them in order, but theres all kinds of obsticals, etc. Sounds very simple, and in theory it is, but man, it gets terrible hard after a while.
Are we talking only open source games, or commercial, too?
If commercial, I would have to say that the Quake series are just about the best available, but then again, I've been a fan since Quake I (and yes, I played that on Windows 95 when it came out).
If open source, I'd say that even though I'm not a big RPG player, The Battle for Wesnoth can be pretty fun.
Distribution: K/Ubuntu 18.04-14.04, Scientific Linux 6.3-6.4, Android-x86, Pretty much all distros at one point...
