Xorg-7.2?
What version of BLFS do you follow? BLFS-6.2 contains instructions for Xorg-6.9.0 and Xorg-7.1, of which the latter is modular. Modular probably [never used it myself] means that you have to choose what components will be downloaded, built and installed.
"Missing output drivers" must be a sign that X cannot find the driver for your video card. Did you build the corresponding component [must be "Xorg Drivers"]?
P.S.: Hm, I found version 7.2. It's in development BLFS. Do you follow the development branch of BLFS [and not the stable one]?
With modular, after I compiled everything, there are *still* issues like these. How the he** does anyone know what "Missing output drivers" means?
And dont dare to look at their wiki, it seems a 4-years old has decided to maintain their wiki, disallowing any useful REAL help on these BASIC issues.
I never got around this problem with Xorg. Instead, I have had great success with XFree86 on many computers. Unless you have a specific need to use Xorg, I recommend trying XFree86.
Yes, the old monolithic one still works, but I am sure that it is possible. It just is that the information is scattered and not really helpful.
I'd really love to see the Xorg team get to put a "typical-linux-desktop" together as one package which one can compile and use just like the old monolithic build could be built (by defining ProjectRoot etc...) - at least it worked after one finished compiling it, whereas modular xorg is not as easy.
