GCC test - program times out

I am currently in 6.17. GCC-5.3.0 of LFS 7.9 stable.

After compiliation, when I try to run the test, I am getting following output.

Quote:
Running /sources/gcc-5.3.0/gcc/testsuite/g++.dg/cilk-plus/cilk-plus.exp ...
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: g++.dg/cilk-plus/CK/catch_exc.cc -O1 -fcilkplus execution test
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: g++.dg/cilk-plus/CK/catch_exc.cc -O3 -fcilkplus execution test
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: g++.dg/cilk-plus/CK/catch_exc.cc -g -fcilkplus execution test
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: g++.dg/cilk-plus/CK/catch_exc.cc -g -O2 -fcilkplus execution test
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: c-c++-common/cilk-plus/CK/spawning_arg.c -O1 execution test
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: c-c++-common/cilk-plus/CK/steal_check.c -O1 execution test
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: c-c++-common/cilk-plus/CK/spawning_arg.c -O3 execution test
WARNING: program timed out.
FAIL: c-c++-common/cilk-plus/CK/steal_check.c -O3 execution test
As per http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/.../082-gcc-5.3.0 , I dont see any timeouts.

Is this okay to be ignored?

yes move along

Mostly we only check the sanity checks not run the test. I know what it sayes in the book.

If you want you can compare the fail here https://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2016-04/

After waiting for few hours, the test completed. Here is the test result.

=== g++ Summary ===
# of unexpected failures 12
=== gcc Summary ===
# of unexpected failures 13
=== libatomic Summary ===
=== libgomp Summary ===

=== libstdc++ Summary ===

As per the book, two unexpected failures for libstdc++ is fine. But I am concerned about gcc and g++ failures. I shall proceed with fingers crossed.

Just move along. The timeouts are due to slow hardware or running tests in a VM.
