Boot fails at "Populating /dev"
I was working on a LFS install because I've been meaning to for a long time. It went well until I tried to boot. I just did what the stable book said and added a few things from BLFS but it didn't turn out that great. So is there any programs I need to reinstall? Clean out the bootscripts (I added a few BLFS ones)? I already tried udev again. Thanks!

Did you finish building LFS (not BLFS)?
Did you try to boot _before_ adding anything from BLFS?
Well, whatever your answer is, you will probably have to build to all over again.
BTW, there's nALFS, which is worth giving a try -- real useful for compiling core LFS.
Good luck!

I didn't try to boot before BLFS. I'm doing it all over again. Working on GCC second pass now.

and just a thing to add:
You can't skip booting into you new LFS system - you'll build BLFS from within the LFS bones.

Well, the book said that you might want to install Lynx and a few other programs to read the BLFS book.
