adjusting toolchain

Hello,

When i try to do the commands

mv -v /tools/bin/{ld,ld-old}
Everything goes well.
when doing:
mv -v /tools/$(gcc -dumpmachine)/bin/{ld,ld-old}
I get the following error:
Bash: syntax error near unexpected token '('

Where did it went wrong?
