Who are the SMB/SME in your neighborhood?

I want to intern at a SMB/SME that runs Linux, but how can I find one in my area? I'm not sure how to go about doing this. The only idea I have is to go through the yellow pages and call every number. This sounds like an awful plan! I live in Chicago- any ideas?

SMB = samba
SME = Subject Matter Expert

From your question it appears this is NOT what you mean so you might want to define your terms in order to get a better answer to the question.

Looking for a LUG (Linux Users' Group) in Chicago would likely be the way to go. Doing that I found:
http://www.chicagolug.org/Main_Page

Since I don't know anything about that LUG I merely mention it was found in a Google search. Their site shows mailing lists so chances are an email to that list will give help you get information specific whatever you are looking for in Chicago.
