Try getting to a console and do a dmesg to see if its detected there. I'm sure its just some quirky setting with Yast or just possibly didn't detect it properly.

I only get this on any SuSe 9.0,9.1> if the HDD is a scsi or SATA with RAID or IDE with RAID card , it cannot "see" the HDD so I use a small /BOOT on a CF Card (IDE) mounted to the hda once setting up the /boot sector grub "see's" md array just fine and boots quite happily - now if I could just get that darn floppy cable to work on the (IDE)CF card reader _ I think I would be in heaven!
