Angry JDK & OpenMotif installation - Redhat Enterprise

I am a Linux newbie and have set up Redhat Enterprise 3.0. I have been asked to install JDK 1.3.1 and Open Motif on this server. How do I achieve this? Read somewhere that I can install using "rpm -i {package}.rpm". Is this enough.

Also, how do I later check that the package is actually installed? Is it "rpm -q -a"?

Would appreciate the expert's view. Thanks.
