Parrot on Berryboot/Raspberry Pi4

I have downloaded Parrot into the Berryboot bootloader. The version of Parrot that I got from here: https://berryboot.alexgoldcheidt.com/. This version is headless. There is a youtube clip where someone downloads a version with GUI but I can't find that version.

It boots up ok to a command prompt but that is where I am stuck. I can't seem to download a desktop onto via the command line. I am using things like sudo apt-get install xxxx etc It is telling me that it doesn't recognise apt-get install.

I don't have much experience with headless installs but have used things like raspbian lite which is headless and never had any issue but I'm can't get this one to play ball.
Anybody have ideas? I've reached out to the (limited) support offered on the site without reply. Any help greatly received.

I'll be cross posting this so other groups so you may encounter this post elsewhere

"doing things like" is not a useful description of the steps you attempt. Share the precise commands and their precise output, in particular error output.

Sorry about that. Written in haste.

I've been wrestling with this for hours now. In the first instance I worked out that I wasn't connected to the internet. The berryboot is connected via wifi which works with the other distros I have in the system (ubuntu and centaurus) but for some reason when I boot into Parrot there is no internet. So I connected to the internet via ethernet. Confirmed. But it made no difference. This is what I am getting;

Code:
sudo apt install parrot-kde
I get unable to locate package Likewise I get this for gnome, xfce as well. If I do:
Code:
sudo apt update
I get some readout but this is the main thing (I hope) the repository is not signed
Likewise if I do sudo parrot-upgradeI get the same (ie repo not signed)

I'm sorry that I can't post the complete output. If its essential it would have to be a photo but I don't think I can post that.

I didn't really expect this to be so difficult. Making it worse is that there was a version of parrot with GUI that the dev on teh site has now taken down. Would have made life a lot easier.

I hope that this helps and gets me to a solution. I thank you for any help you give. And remember I'm a total newbie to this.

Are you sure that an ARM version of the parrot-kde package exists? The "Berryboot" image is flagged as "headless" for a reason, I would think. apt list tells you which packages are available in the configured repo(s).

You can try the option --allow-unauthenticated. However, understand the risks when using an unsigned repository: You are not sure who created this repository and whether it contains legitimate software.

Thanks for that suggestion. I may give it a go if I can't find another way.
