wondering...


i bought mandrake 7.1 for 15$... it says yu can install it under windows...is that the best way to do it?

also, i know this mandrake was cheap but is there a better distribution to use?

A. Give Drake it's own partition(s) and run it by itself. You can then set your system up to dual-boot Linux and Windows.

B.Mandrake is probably the most friendly distro if you're just starting out (the lastest version of Drake is 8.0).

Depending on what level you are with Linux usually tells you what Distro you use or most use. Mandrake is good for newbies. Then there is SuSE, Redhat and some others I would say are around equal to one another. Lets call these intermediate. Then there is Slackware and Debian, for the advanced users. There are tons of distro's, really in several words, you really couldn't pick out "a best one". They all have their cons and pros.
