Which distro to pun on this computer?

Hello. My primary student laptop is Thinkpad T21 (P3-800mhz/512ram/30gb) I installed there latest Kubuntu and was very happy w/ it. But since I'm a newbie I killed some important data (i used dualboot with win2000)

So Now I have a separate laptop for my linux learning that I can do anything with it.

Ibm Thinkpad 770
Cpu...... Pentium 1 - 233mhz mmx
Ram........ 192mb (it won's see 2x256 slots, prolly too old)
video resolution.. 1024x768
hdd.........20gb (can put more)

I know this laptop might be little old, But that's what I have now.
I would like any destribution that would work with REASONABLE SPEED on this laptop.
What would you recommend?

if you don't require the use of a graphical env. you could pick any. If you do, perhaps debian is for you, using xfce, a lightweight graphical env.

This is the distro I use and recommend, Why because it works right out of the box. No need to configure Everything, everything just works. It also comes as a 1 CD install that is a live CD that you can install later if you wish.
