vuescan - crashes under Mdk 9.1

Just installed Mdk 9.1 replacing 9.0. Vuescan worked perfectly on 9.0, but is not much good on 9.1. It opens OK and works in its simplest form (no options), but when I try to expand options to "some" or "all" it simply crashes out.

Vendor advises he built it on Red Hat 7.2 and has had some complaints about Mdk 9.1. He thinks the problem is with the shared libraries, most likely libc, libstdc++ or libgtk.

Did a "ldd vuescan" and got the same files and links (except the 0x addresses) as the vendor got when he did one under Red Hat.

Any ideas anybody?
