Unexpected EOF in archive when install Gentoo 1.4 stage1


Are there any ways around this or will I have to bite the bullet and redownlaod the ISO?

You might be able to get away with just re-downloading a new copy of the stage 1 ISO which are in the /releases/x86/1.4/stages/x86/ directory of wherever your favourite mirror site keeps the Gentoo files. If you use the copy of wget included on the LiveCD you shouldn't even have to reboot. That should be enough to get you up and running.
