Suse9 - non-GPL software & lack of ISO's
It seems after searching LQ.org that Suse9 ISO's are simply NOT available and more so, it's forbidden to make and redistribute your own Suse9 ISOs. Something to do with Yast coding? I am not a Suse user but I'd like to know why this is.
And because Im confused; The downloadable version is the same thing you'd get if you purchased it? Am I right on this? I just don't see why redistribution of YOUR copy is not allowed, that breaks the GPL.

Read their license at www.suse.com
And no, by redistributing your copy via iso, etc, doesn't break the GPL. Read the GPL license. If they were breaking it, I'm sure the FSF would have been all over them years ago.
Regards.
