Hey guys,
I want SuSE 9.1, and also, I want to use Gnome.
SuSE 9.1 Pro has gnome 2.4, but my question: is it as easy to install as the Personal Edition?
And when will the Professional version be downloadable?
The pro version should be just as easy, if not easier, to install than the personal version.

Probably never. You used to have to buy personal or professional if you wanted SuSE but after they were bought by Novell they are giving personal away for free. You could buy SuSE 9.1 Pro here (or search Froogle ) or install Gnome yourself which would be a good learning expierence.
SuSE Linux Professional 9.1 is extremely easy to install. You'll have no problems at all with it.
Yes, SuSE Pro comes with Gnome 2.4 - I too prefer Gnome, however unfortunately KDE is default. Although you can change this, I have come across some errors in Gnome which I never came across in KDE.
Assuming you are installing Suse 9.1 Pro from the boxed set that you purchased, it should be easy. If you are attempting to install Suse 9.1 via a Network installation and downloading the packages from a mirror site, then it will involve more work. As for making the Suse 9.1 Pro ISO's available for download, as already stated, that scenario is not likely to occur although you can freely download the Personal edition (which I assume you've already done). Good luck with it. Although Slackware is my distro of choice, I am running Suse on a second machine and I am impressed with it -- J.W.
My guess is Suse made the personal available because the live eval version was giving to much trouble. Here at LQ I saw a bunch of people complaining on 9.1 live eval.
Personally, I could run both 8.2 and 9.0 live eval. 9.1 didn't run (in the same machine), no matter how many times I tried. Always hanged before starting x.
With personal, the user has a chance to get to know the system, before he decide to purchase it. That's the intention benhind the personal edition.
Obs - Regarding kde/gnome issue: during installation of the pro, I configed yast2 to install almost all packages there were in the cd's, so I don't need to go hunting packages after. Currently in my login screen, I see: Kde, Gnome, Window Maker, fluxbox, blackbox, ice-something, and some other two or three that I can't remember the name.
Conclusion: Defaults exist, but you don't have to follow them.
